How to find inner peace: 7 things that actually help

How to find inner peace when your thoughts keep spinning and your body will not relax? Seven simple things that genuinely work.

Many people call me not because of one specific problem, but because of a feeling that is hard to name. “Everything seems fine, but there is no peace inside.” Thoughts keep spinning even at night, the body is tense, and small things throw you off balance. How to find inner peace is one of the questions I have heard most often since 2010. The answer is not magical, but there is one. I want to share what, in my experience, actually helps.

What inner peace is

Inner peace is not a life without problems. There will always be problems. Peace is a state in which they do not take over, when you can face a difficulty without losing yourself. You could compare it to a lake: the wind still blows and waves rise on the surface, but deep down the water stays calm. When that depth is gone, every gust of wind stirs everything up to the bottom.

What does it look like when peace is gone? You cannot fall asleep for a long time because the day’s conversations keep replaying in your head. You wake up tense before anything has even happened. You snap at your loved ones easily and then feel bad about it. It is hard to be alone in silence, so the television or phone is always on. It feels as if you must keep doing something, because when you stop, anxiety floods in. If you recognise this, know that it is not your character. It is a state that can be changed.

How to find inner peace: 7 things that help

1. Come back to your body. Peace starts not with thoughts but with breathing. Several times a day, stop and breathe in slowly through your nose, then breathe out even more slowly. A long out breath tells the body there is no danger.

2. Spend time in nature. A forest, a riverbank, even an ordinary park works better than most advice. Walk slowly, listen, touch the trees. Half an hour among trees calms the nervous system in a way no screen ever can.

3. Turn down the noise. News, social media and constant messages fill your head with other people’s thoughts. Try to spend at least an hour in the morning and in the evening without your phone.

4. Write down what weighs on you. Thoughts that keep circling in your head often look smaller on paper. In the evening, write down everything that is troubling you and tell yourself: “I will think about it tomorrow.”

5. Let go of old hurts. Old anger and unforgiven wrongs disturb peace more than anything. Forgiving does not mean excusing. It means no longer carrying what weighs you down.

6. Put your space in order. Clutter, broken things and crowded corners constantly pull at your attention. A calm home helps a calm mind.

7. Find a rhythm. Regular sleep, meals and movement give the body a sense of safety. Peace loves steadiness.

When other people disturb your peace

Often we lose our peace not because of ourselves but because of the people around us. A colleague who constantly complains. A relative after whose call you feel bad all evening. A relationship in which you keep having to prove your worth. In such situations clear boundaries help: you can keep conversations short, not answer late in the evening, not explain your decisions to those who do not respect them. That is not selfishness. Notice, too, which meetings leave you feeling lighter and which leave you feeling emptier. The body knows these things before the mind does.

Why sometimes nothing helps

It happens that a person does everything right: meditates, walks, exercises, and still peace does not come. In such cases I often see that the cause lies not in behaviour but in energy. You may be carrying an outside influence, for example someone’s strong anger or envy. You may be sleeping or working over a geopathic zone that drains you every day. You may be held back by a family or karmic burden that will not let you relax, even though there is no obvious reason. As long as that remains, good habits help only partly.

One sign that the cause may be energetic is very simple. When you go away from home for a few days, peace returns, and as soon as you come back it disappears again. Or the opposite: you feel fine at home, but within an hour at work you become a completely different person. When your peace depends on a place or on being near a particular person, it is worth looking not only at yourself but also at what surrounds you.

When to see a doctor

Constant worry, insomnia or inner tension can be a sign of an anxiety disorder, depression or other health conditions. If the state lasts a long time and gets in the way of work or relationships, see your GP, a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Bioenergy complements medicine but does not replace it, and there is no need to stop medication prescribed by your doctor. If you feel very bad and have thoughts of harming yourself, call 112 or the Vilties linija crisis line on 116 123 (available 24 hours) without delay. Abroad, call your local emergency number.

How I can help

During a bioenergy diagnostic session I use a dowsing rod to find what is disturbing your peace: an outside influence, an emotional block, a karmic burden or the place where you live. Then I carry out the correction, and if the problem lies in your home, I can clear the space. A session lasts an hour to an hour and a half. My studio is in Kaišiadorys, Gedimino g. 109, next to Rimi, so it is easy to reach from both Kaunas and Vilnius. I can also work remotely from a photo, keeping in touch by phone, WhatsApp or Messenger, so distance is no obstacle. I consult in Lithuanian, Russian and English.

Peace comes back gradually

Inner peace is not a switch you can flip in a single day. It is a skill and a state that can be restored. If you feel you can no longer break out of the circle of tension on your own, give me a call. The first phone call is free: you tell me what is troubling you, and I will tell you honestly whether I can help. Sometimes all it takes is to begin with one call.

In the meantime, try at least one of the seven things today. For example, take a half hour walk in the evening without your phone, or write down what is weighing on you. Small steps repeated every day often do more than big promises to yourself.
